Hi there! My name is Laura and I’m really glad you decided to stop by!
Even as a little girl, I always loved all things food. I was lucky to have a mom who was active in the kitchen and always had something new and interesting on the dinner table. It was actually a running joke in our house that my mom never wanted to make the same thing twice and it seemed like we only got our classic, tried and true favorites if we requested them on birthdays and holidays. Ok, we were definitely exaggerating, but I attribute my adventurous palate wholly to my mom’s love of exciting food and trying new things.
Now, I’m married and my husband, Adam, gets to reap the benefits of my mom’s influence. I’m always in the kitchen trying out new recipes and making my own creations to share with friends and family. He’s encouraged me to turn my passion into this blog and I couldn’t be happier to be here with you guys!
So, with that said, I want to welcome you to Pugs and Pans! Here, I’m going to share with you my journey in making delicious, approachable food. I am excited by trying foods from all different cultures (thanks, mom) and I am deeply comforted by classic, southern cooking (thanks, dad). I hope that my recipes will help you to gain confidence in the kitchen if you’re just starting out and that they will add to you’re list of “Keepers” if you’re already a seasoned home cook.
Oh, and I almost forgot one of the most important characters for Pugs and Pans, my little pug Bodo! He was born in December of 2014 and he is absolutely adorable. His interests include chewing on sticks in the yard, being chased, and getting tickled. He always keeps me laughing and I hope that when he makes an appearance on here he will bring you joy as well.
